Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, place, or other detail entered into an embedded search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Sac County Recent Arrests does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages Sent to Us
When you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and contact details needed to answer. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary web systems may record technical and usage details when a page loads. These records can include:
- Your internet protocol address.
- Your browser name and version.
- Your device class and operating system.
- The pages visited and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time of a request.
Cookie Use
Cookies help show how visitors move through the site and which features work well. You may block or remove cookies through browser controls. Some functions may respond differently or become unavailable when cookies are disabled.
Reasons We Use Information
Collected data is used for limited operational and service purposes:
- Keeping pages available and responsive.
- Passing a search request to the selected outside provider.
- Understanding which content visitors find useful.
- Detecting faults and correcting technical problems.
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links may lead to sheriff and jail pages, court systems, booking resources, corrections agencies, federal locators, news archives, or outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy terms govern its collection and use of data.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs through the provider’s systems rather than ours.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still be available to these parties when needed for the described services or when law requires it:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads.
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Our Security Approach
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website, transmission route, or internet-connected storage system can be promised as completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee protection against every breach or unauthorized access event.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal data, contact us so the material under our control can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and any need to verify the request, you may:
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Ask that eligible information be erased.
- Object to or opt out of certain processing.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice when practices, services, or legal obligations change. The updated text and a new effective date will be posted on this page.
